Terms
Last updated August 2026
These terms apply to lessons booked through this site, together with the studio policies and the privacy notice.
When you agree to this
At booking. The booking form has a checkbox confirming you have read this page, the studio policies and the privacy notice, and the booking will not go through without it. Ticking that box is how agreement is recorded — browsing the site is not agreement to anything.
What is being sold
Private, in-person music instruction from Emily Michael in St. Louis — keyboard, voice and worship leadership — at the price shown when you book. Lessons are one hour and are sold as an 8-week or a 12-week track; an 8-week track is 8 lessons. Nobody is promising you a result. Instruction is what is sold; what you do with it is yours.
Payment
Payments are processed by Stripe, which is also who holds your card details — they never reach this site. Book a single lesson and you pay for that lesson once, when you book it. Book a track and you pick how to pay for it: the whole track up front in one payment, or week by week.
Paying week by week is a subscription. Your card is charged automatically once a week, at the price shown when you booked, for as long as the track runs — you are not paying lesson by lesson by hand. It is set up to stop itself at the end of the track you booked: it does not roll into a second track, and it is not an open-ended membership. To stop it before the track ends, use the billing link on your student page or email emilymichaelboard@gmail.com and it will be cancelled for you. Either way the weeks ahead stop being charged; lessons already taught are not undone. Prices can change, but never for a track you have already started or paid for.
Cancelling a lesson
Cancel a lesson from your student page up to 24 hours before it starts and there is nothing to pay. Inside 24 hours the lesson is charged, because the time was held for you. The full notice window is in the studio policies.
This site cannot move a lesson to a different time or book a make-up for you. Emily arranges make-ups herself: cancel the lesson on your student page, then email her and settle on a new time.
Refunds
Lessons already taught are not refunded, and neither is a lesson cancelled inside the 24-hour window. If you have paid for a track up front and need to stop, the lessons you have not yet taken are refundable: email emilymichaelboard@gmail.com and ask. Refunds are worked out and issued by hand — there is no refund button on this site and nothing is refunded automatically. Expect the money back through Stripe, to the card you paid with, within 10 business days of the refund being agreed.
Managing your billing
Your student page links to Stripe’s own billing portal, where you can see receipts and update a card. That link only has anything to show once you have actually paid through this site; before that it will tell you there are no payments on file. Anything the portal cannot do, email the studio about.
Recorded and downloadable material
Lessons are what is sold today. If a course, download or other recorded material is ever offered here, it is licensed to you for your own use — sharing a login, re-uploading videos, or passing the material on is not permitted.
Your account
Sign-in links go to your email; keep that inbox to yourself. Anyone with access to it can reach your student page. Tell the studio if you think someone else has reached your account.
Limits
Singing and playing are physical activities. Stop and speak to a doctor if something hurts. To the extent the law allows, liability is limited to what you paid for the lesson or track in question.
Changes
These terms can change. The version on this page at the time you book is the one that applies to that booking.
